Attorney James Sawyer is the ProsecUtor for the Laconia Police Department. He represents the victims of criminal acts and prosecutes those arrested or summonsed for misdemeanor and violation offenses by the Laconia Police Department.

All misdemeanor and violation offense are arraigned and tried at the Laconia District Court.

Attorney Sawyer also assists the County Attorney's Office and the NH Attorney General's Office in preparing criminal cases for felony level offenses that occur within the city.

Prosecutor Sawyer's Office is located at Laconia Police Department headquarters.
