The Laconia Police Department expends a great deal of time and effort in the planning and delivery of police services during this week. The Department enlists the support of a number of federal, state and local law enforcement agencies to assist us policing the events within the City. Major assistance is received from the New Hampshire State Police, The Belknap and Hillsborough County Sheriff Departments, The University of NH Police Department, The U.S. Border Patrol, NH Bureau of Liquor Enforcement and numerous other municipal agencies throughout the state.
The Laconia Motorcycle Week consistently brings a large influx of visitors into the Lakes Region. The majority of visitors are well-mannered tourists who respect the rights of area residents and businesses and are drawn to the Lakes Region for the sights, sounds and atmosphere associated with "Motorcycle Week". There is, however an element of visitors who fail to display such respect and engage in activities which, in addition to being unlawful, often creates dangerous conditions for themselves and those around them. Law enforcement agencies responsible to police this event stringently enforce the laws relative to the operation of vehicles, alcohol consumption and personal conduct. The purpose of this enforcement policy is to create a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for all visitors and residents.
Much of the disorderly and endangering conduct of individuals during race week stems from the irresponsible consumption of alcoholic beverages. The Laconia Police Department will be strictly enforcing laws regarding the excessive consumption underage and public consumption of alcohol. The possession and consumption of alcoholic beverages in a public place or within vehicles is against the law and violators are subject to summons or arrest.
The Laconia Police Department encourages all those who attend the event to conduct themselves appropriately, respecting other people and their property and treat everyone in a manner in which you wish to be treated. It is the Department’s intent to provide a safe environment for those attending events during Bike Week. If you are visiting the City during the rally please feel free to seek out our assistance if you need any information or our services.
